Black Belt
McCormick's Martial Arts career began in traditional Karate where he won the World Karate Tournament's bronze
medal championship. McCormick began his interest in Combat Martial Arts in the U.S. Marine Corp. He received his Black Belt from Professor Bradley Steiner, 10th Degree Black Belt in Jen Do Tao. Jen Do Tao is an electric system of Combat Martial Art that combines Karate and Jujitsu and incorporates knife and stick fighting from many disciplines. Steiner is also know for his knowledge and expertise on the combat use of firearms. He writes for Handgun magazine and has been featured in Black Belt, Karate Illustrated and Soldier of Fortune. He is the former Washington State director of the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainers and was involved in training survival skills to Navy pilots participating in the Gulf War.
McCormick
went on to receive his 6th Degree Black Belt in Karajitsu which he also teaches. Karajitsu is an eclectic system of Combat Martial Arts, which combines aspects of Karate and Jujitsu. Karajitsu provides skills which deal with personal security in our contemporary society. He has worked with members of various law enforcement agencies in Canada and the United States in officer safety and edged weapons defense.
